Short and sweet family and children portrait sessions at a school holiday shopping event.
About a month ago, a friend approached me about being a vendor at a local school’s Christmas Shopping Palooza. They didn’t ask me to come sell prints of my existing work. They asked me to be a photographer and offer discounted mini sessions that the school mostly pre-booked for me. This was a time for me to give back a little bit to the community. It was an honor to offer family and children portrait sessions.
I know one of these families hadn’t had an updated family picture in 10 years. One of the families came in and got an extended family photo. I hope they hang it with joy in their home and treasure for years to come. One mom was pleased because she didn’t like the photo taken of her child on Picture day.
It made me smile to know that I was making a small difference in these families lives. I was providing them with prints that they can enjoy looking back on. In a world of digitals, a printed photo is something to be treasured. It was a heart warming day for me, one I hope I can repeat next year!
