From family photography to Sibling and Newborn Photography!
If you know me, you know I am not known for my baby photography. Usually, I am an Edmonton family photographer. Although, I do always include a siblings portrait in my sessions. But one of my regular clients bought a gift certificate from me (yes, you can buy those!) for a baby gift for a dear friend of hers. Surely, I couldn’t wait to meet the precious little one for a sibling and newborn photography session.
Just The Kids – sibling and newborn photography!
Mom and dad didn’t really want to be in the portraits and that is more than ok. I am not about to push people into a session if they are uncomfortable. Mom brought a few different outfits for the little princess. The lighting in the studio this day was amazing! The sun filtered beautifully through the windows for wonderful natural lighting.
The Love Between Siblings
Certainly, these siblings were easy to photograph. Her son clearly loves the big brother role and his little sister is already in love with him as well. He was eager to have his photo taken with her. He lovingly looked down at her from time to time and she would smile, looking back up at him. It brought my own heart joy to see the wonderful bond between these siblings that was already there.
The Studio and Lighting Were On Point
Because the lighting was so wonderful in the studio that day, not much had to be done in terms of post processing. It was truly helpful to have such amazing lighting.
Truthfully, I’ve done very few sibling and newborn photography sessions in my career. While including a siblings portrait for Edmonton families in their sessions is very common for me, it was such a joy to have such a precious little bundle of joy in my studio for a session. I have grown a lot from my first newborn session and I love seeing my own growth through the years.
