A picturesque setting, Rundle Park Edmonton, for a cute couple and their children.
For the second time this fall, I’ve had the honor of photographing a family of five in Rundle Park Edmonton. Above all, it is a picturesque setting in the river valley. It is one of my favorite parks, as I have fond memories from my childhood of it. From the playground, to the trees, to the walkways, its truly beautiful.
This couple definitely enjoy each other’s company and are the best of friends. They were a joy to be around and were so comfortable in front of the camera. The kids were constantly laughing and making each other smile, telling little jokes to each other. They have a partnership many would envy to have.
Let the Children Dance!
The kids were also a joy to watch. The children enjoyed being in front of the camera and were willing to even dance when I asked them to! They were willing participants in the photo session and I try to find ways to make it fun for the younger ones.
Younger children tend to like being in front of the camera (once they get past the shyness of someone new being around). But they lose interest fast. I try to get all the images with the youngest kids first, or early in the session, before focusing on mom and dad portraits, or portraits of older siblings and teens. While the teens often times don’t want to be there having portraits done, they have more patience than the younger ones.
Rundle Park was the perfect backdrop of this wonderful family. It really gave it a feel of being in the forest, when we were actually in a city park. We were also right beside a playground! Rundle Park Edmonton offers many different sets for your family’s session, with lots to explore. In fact, it is one of the best places in Edmonton for fall photos! If you want to check it out yourself, here is a link to some more information about the park.
