Happy first birthday, Jensen!! Let’s smash some cake!
This handsome little devil is named Jensen. Earlier this spring, he turned one! I received the invite to come do his smash cake photo shoot. Obviously, his mom and dad are absolutely over the moon with their little man. I can imagine, though, having a baby and celebrating his first birthday during a global pandemic likely wasn’t his parents had imagined for their first born! What a whirl wind trip I’m sure this was for Jensen and his parents! They have certainly made the best of the situation.
Jensen wore this adorable little jean overall for his session. The balloons were perfect in blue. A giant cup cake awaited this cute dude for his smash cake photo shoot. At first, he wasn’t too sure of the cake. Once he figured out it was tasty, he definitely enjoyed himself!
Jensen definitely is in love with his mama and wouldn’t let her get too far away from him. Unfortunately, he did not love my camera. It took quite some time to warm up to the idea of having his photo taken. His mom explained that this was quite typical for him. Consequently, I had to try my best to work around the fact that he didn’t want me snapping his photo! He finally gave in and began to enjoy himself (handfuls of icing may have helped this!). In the end, we had some beautiful photos – some individually with his parents, a cute one of the post smash cake photo shoot bath, and several of him enjoying his cake!
Restrictions Ease in Time for the Smash Cake Photo Shoot and Party!
Much to his parents delight, they were able to celebrate his first birthday with a small group of family the following weekend. The limit on gatherings had increased some during this stretch of the pandemic. I can’t wait to watch this little one grow!!
